Isabelle Cowan MASP. L. Psych., BCBA Director

Isabelle Cowan is the Director of the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). ALP specializes in the professional development of educators who support learners with autism spectrum disorders in preschool and school settings. As a school psychologist and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), Isabelle has been working for more than fifteen years in the areas of assessment, consultation and intervention for learners facing different behavioural, developmental or learning challenges. In collaboration with experts in the field, she has also led the development of curriculum-based assessment tools that are now mandatory in preschool autism intervention settings and widely used in schools. She is an active member and past president of APABA, the Atlantic Provinces Association for Behaviour Analysis, a branch of the Association of Behaviour Analysis International (ABAI).

Julie Michaud M.Ed., BCBA Learning Specialist – Education Lead

Julie Michaud is the Learning Specialist – Provincial Autism Training Lead (Education) for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). Julie completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education at the Université de Moncton and a Master of Education at the University of Arizona. Julie became a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) in 2017. She was a classroom teacher for almost seven years and a resource teacher for six years. She worked with learners with a variety of developmental and behavioural needs, and school personnel at the elementary and high school levels. Her areas of expertise are the assessment and programming of learning and behaviour for school-age learners with autism spectrum disorders, the creation and implementation of training for school staff.

Emily Forestell M.Sc. Ed., BCBA Learning Specialist – Early Childhood Lead

Emily Forestell is the Provincial Autism Training Lead (Early Childhood) and Learning Specialist for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). Emily is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, she leads the team that delivers training within the early childhood sector, primarily in New Brunswick’s Preschool Autism Program. Emily has over 15 years of experience working with individuals with ASD; having worked with young adults, school-aged children and as a clinical supervisor with preschool-aged children. Emily completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Education with a focus on intensive special needs education from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. Emily is passionate about professional learning and making a positive impact in quality service delivery for individuals with ASD and their families.

Catherine Breault M.Ed., BCBA Learning Specialist – Education

Catherine Breault is a Learning Specialist for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). Catherine is a teacher and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), and holds Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Education, a Masters degree in Educational Foundations (Exceptional Learners), and a Graduate Academic Certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis. Catherine has been working in New Brunswick schools for over twenty years, first as a teacher and Education Support Teacher – Resource, and then in a variety of District-based positions where she provided consultation and support to teachers and school-based education support services teams to help meet the needs of learners with autism spectrum disorder and other exceptionalities.

Susan Maxwell M.Ed. Learning Specialist – Education

Susan Maxwell is a Learning Specialist for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada).
Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Education in Exceptional Learners from the University of New Brunswick as well as a Certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis Advanced Series from Florida Institute of Technology. Susan has over 21 years of experience as an educator with 18 years supporting students, parents, and staff in New Brunswick. She has held numerous positions including classroom teacher, Education Support Teacher – Resource, and Principal. Previous to her current position, she worked as a district-based Education Support Teacher – Autism with both Woodstock and Fredericton Education Centres. While in this role, Susan collaborated with numerous school teams to support students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Sheri Gallant M.Ed., BCBA Learning Specialist – Education

Sheri Gallant is a Learning Specialist for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). Sheri is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and holds Bachelor degrees in Education, Psychology, Sociology, a Masters degree in Educational Foundations specializing in Exceptional Learners, and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis. Previous to her current position, she worked within Anglophone School District East as a Resource Support Teacher/Mentor where she supported resource teachers, school-based resource teams, and the students they teach. She provided direct service to students with ASD from kindergarten through high school, along with consultation and support to school-based resource teachers, classroom teachers, and educational assistants.

Monette LeBlanc-Priemer M.Ed., BCBA Learning Specialist – Education​

Monette LeBlanc-Priemer is a learning specialist for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). Monette has been working with school personnel since 2004. She obtained her master’s degree in education with honours in resource teaching in 2010 and served as a resource teacher for seven years. She has been working as a Learning Specialist with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development since 2012. Monette obtained her behavioural analyst certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board in 2016, after completing her training at the University of North Texas. Her areas of expertise are the assessment and programming of learning and behaviour for school-age learners with autism spectrum disorders, the creation and implementation of training for school staff and the support of complex cases.

Tina Cole M.Ed. Learning Specialist – Education

​ Tina Cole is a Learning Specialist for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). Tina completed her master’s degree in education in resource teaching at the Université de Moncton in 2018. She also worked for eight years as a high school teacher and resource teacher (elementary and secondary) in the South Francophone School District. She is currently completing the coursework required to obtain her certification as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA).

Lynn Gaudet MAPS. L. Psych Leaning Specialist – Early Childhood

Lynn Gaudet is a Learning Specialist for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). Lynn is also, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Lynn has 25 years of varied experience working in the school system, the mental health field, the private sector as well as with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development as a provincial Program Consultant for the Preschool Autism Program and Early Intervention Program. She is currently working towards becoming a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. Her primary areas of work are training development for professionals working with preschool-aged children with ASD and the design and development of parent training initiatives and products.

Ariane Choquette M.Ed. Leaning Specialist – Early Childhood

Ariane Choquette is a learning specialist for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada).
Ariane represents the Autism Learning Partnership in the early childhood sector. Before joining the Autism Learning Partnership team in 2018, Ariane worked for Autism Intervention Services where she held the positions of Behaviour interventionist, Behaviour Consultant and Clinical Supervisor. Ariane holds a combined Bachelor of Science and Education (B.Sc.-B. Ed., major in mathematics) from the Université de Moncton and a Master of Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Arizona State University. She is currently working towards becoming a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.

Natalie Léger M.Ed. Learning Specialist

Natalie Léger is the outreach learning specialist for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada).
Natalie has been working as an Autism Learning Specialist for New Brunswick’s Department of Education and Early Childhood (EECD) since 2013. She has completed a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Special Education from Université de Moncton, and is currently working on a BCBA certification from the University of North Texas.
Before joining the Autism Learning Partnership, Natalie worked with leaners of all ages, first as a resource teacher in the school system, then in residential care for adults with Autism Spectrum disorder (ASD) and more recently, in the preschool settings, training professionals in Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention (EIBI).

Stéphanie Melanson M.Ed. Learning Specialist – Research and Innovation Lead

Stéphanie Mélanson is the Research and Innovation lead for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada).
Stéphanie obtained her Bachelor of Education degree from the Université of Moncton in 2007. She then completed a Master’s degree in resource teaching at the Université of Moncton in 2009 then worked as a resource teacher for almost 8 years. This experience allowed her to work with fellow teachers, parents, community members, but most importantly, students with a multitude of strengths and challenges. Her interest in the autism spectrum disorder began in 2012, when she was part of the province’s first cohort of resource teachers who completed level 1 of the ASD and Behavioural Interventions training. She then completed level 2 of the “Learning for teaching” training in 2014–2015. In January 2016, she had the opportunity to work in the South Francophone school district as a Learning Support Services Learning Specialist. In September 2016, she became an Education Support Services Learning Specialist at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and worked with teams of resource teachers from the province who were completing Level 2 training.

Maha Imazitene, MBA, Outreach Consultant

Maha Imazitene is the Outreach Consultant for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada).
For the last 20 years, Maha occupied several functions in education and training. She has worked as a University teacher at the Department of Education in Beirut, as an international area manager for a major book publishing company in Paris and as a senior manager for an international online learning company headquartered in San Francisco.
Maha has a recognized expertise in partnership and international relations management, engineering complex training solutions and in online training project management.
She graduated from La Sorbonne-Nouvelle in General and Comparative literature and in Teaching French as a foreign language. Maha also holds an executive MBA in International Relations from Paris Dauphine and UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal).

Amal Kilani, Programmer

Amal Kilani is the programmer at the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). Amal graduated from the University of Moncton with a master in applied science in January 2018. She obtained her engineering degree in computer systems in 2013 from the University of Sfax, Tunisia. She is responsible for assisting teachers, learning specialists and participants in the registration process and during the online courses periods. She is also responsible for building and maintaining online courseware and interactive resources for deployment in the Desire2Learn (D2L) LMS, and building other interactive components- such as HTML web forms, JavaScript, dynamic HTML components.

Anne Beinchet, Linguist

Anne Beinchet is the linguist at the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada)
Anne has been working in the language industry for over 20 years with different positions such as translator, editor, reviser, instructor, professor, interpret or terminologist. She holds a master’s degree in Teaching French as a second language, a master’s degree in Translation and she is currently working on her doctoral thesis which is linked to community translation.

Judy Béland, Administrative Assistant​

Judy Béland is the administrative assistant of the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada). Judy joined the team in May 2018. She has been working in customer service for over 18 years now. She supports the team with anything related to administrative management in order to deliver efficient and high quality services.

About Us

Developed by the New Brunswick Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in collaboration with the Departments of Education from the Atlantic Provinces, ASD and Behavioural Interventions is a self-paced online training program designed for those supporting learners on the autism spectrum.

Participants learn how ABA-based interventions (Applied Behaviour Analysis) can be implemented in the learning environment.
